Round bronze memorial plaque (medallion) commemorating Lincoln Federick Armstrong (Linc) (1893-1918) 7/1184 (6th Reinforcements). Issued to Armstrong family. In original cardboard packaging and includes note from Buckingham Palace.. Aka dead man's penny. Features a lion beside Britannica with outstretched hand holding a wreath. Around the edge of the plaque are the words "He died for freedom and honour". These were posted out separately, typically in 1919 and 1920, with a King’s message" enclosed, containing a facsimile signature of the King. |
