Description |
posthumously awarded medal of R.V. Armstrong. 1 of 2. The British War Medal / '1914-1918' medal. Obverse: An Uncrowned Effigy of King George V surrounded by the legend "GEORGIVS V BRITT:OMN:REX ET IND:IMP:". Reverse: St. George on horseback facing right. The horse is trampling on the shield of the Central Powers. At the foot are a skull and crossbones, at the top there is a rising sun. Around the edge are the dates "1914" and "1918." Trooper Armstrong's details around the edge. Incorrect ribbon attached, watered with colours, red white and blue (this is the ribbon for the 1914 / 1914-15 star). |
