Description |
Cased sixth plate ambrotype portrait of Mrs Sarah Haylock and her son Arthur. Hand coloured. No cover, botton end of case not present. Mrs Sarah Haylock nee Long born 1822 in Ely, married the widower Charles Lagden Haylock on 30 Nov. 1847, and arrived on the Monarch in Akaroa in 1850. The only child from this marriage, Arthur Lagdon Haylock, was born in 1860. She died on 12 July 1902, Arthur in 1948. Because of age of child, photograph must date from early 1860s, probably about 1863. |
