Half plate size gelatin dry plate glass negative. Photograph taken on rue Lavaud of the first Madeira Hotel, the premises of A. Rodrigues (as the sign on the building reads). It looks like Rodrigues is standing in front of the building. A conservatory is at the side of the building right to the footpath. Rodrigues died in 1905, making the date ofthe photograph prior to this. |

One of a 115 negatives in this collection. Collected by donor's grandfather, Jack (John Francis) Yeatman, who lived in Akaroa in the 1960s and 1970s and moved the Council building to Woodills Road. All appear to be Akaroa subjects. |
