Photograph, white border of a row of five large buildings, between are large guns (cannons) pointing out to sea. Across the water is land. Inscr. on the verso: 'Forts, Kalid Bahr'. December 1918 - Jan 1919. A view of the gun positions of the Kalid Bahr Fort overlooking the Dardanelles This photograph is also in the collections of the National Army Museum, in an album of Trooper Leonard William Mowat (CMR), acc, 1992.745.4. Therefore some of these photographs may have been purchased or shared. Justin Lelievre may not be the photographer. Justin Lelievre served in Gallipoli and throughout the Egyptian / Middle East campaign. This photograph is from a series of camp and "tourist" photographs. |
