Photograph, white border of a gun emplacement. A cannon with two soldiers standing , leaning against the barrel. Inscr. on the verso: '9.2 [inch] gun at Kalid Bahr'. December 1918 - Jan 1919. The National Army museum identifies that the man on the left is 35619 Trooper Leonard William Mowat. The gun was made by Krupps This photograph is also in the collections of the National Army Museum, in an album of Trooper Leonard William Mowat (CMR), acc, 1992.745.4. Therefore some of these photographs may have been purchased or shared. Justin Lelievre may not be the photographer. Justin Lelievre served in Gallipoli and throughout the Egyptian / Middle East campaign. This photograph is from a series of camp and "tourist" photographs. |
