Description |
Mounted gelatin silver chloride print on a page from a dis-assembled photograph album (other side of leaf has another photograph). Image depicts a stone beach in the foreground with a bay and a steam boat laying at anchor. At the waterline is a an empty boat with an oar and a second boat surrounded by men with wool bales stacked inside. Another wool bale is in the foreground on the beach with two men sitting on it, there is also a dog in the bottom right corner. Title on the print (i.e. negative) very faded, 'Shipping wool, Flea Bay'. Page stamped 'Percy Whitham'. Captioned 'Shipping wool, Flea Bay' on page however, title on print consistent with the photographs taken by Con Murphy. |

Donated by J. P. [Percy] Whitham. According to donor's supplied information, the photographs at the beginning of the album were taken by the donor. The photographs after this were by Con Murphy. Chronologically the Murphy photographs are earlier, and the donor's photographs are between 1907 and 1911. |
